
David L. Finger has been named one of Delaware’s top lawyers numerous times in polls of lawyers published in Delaware Today magazine and was named by Lawdragon as one of America’s Leading Lawyers. He is a third-generation Delaware lawyer, a graduate of Wilmington Friends School, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Virginia School of Law.
Mr. Finger is a member of the Bars of the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Second and Federal Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. He argued before the United States Supreme Court in the case of Adams v. Governor of the State of Delaware. Mr. Finger is the co-author of the Delaware Trial Handbook, originally published by Lawyers Cooperative Publishing in 1994, which is now updated and accessible for free elsewhere on this website.
Mr. Finger has represented individuals and entities in stockholder disputes, corporate election disputes, business disputes, intellectual property disputes, political disputes and civil rights matters. Mr. Finger has represented news media outlets, reporters and other individuals in defamation, freedom of information and related First Amendment and media law disputes.
